As summer is just around the corner the subject of summer holidays is on everyone’s minds. With the covid crisis still looming in many parts of the world, it seems that holidays abroad are still just out of our reach. However, just because we can’t all travel overseas this year, doesn’t mean summer is cancelled, why not stay put and have a staycation in beautiful Britain instead?
We compiled some of our favourite stay at home spots so that you can still have that summer you’ve been dreaming of.
Extended stays:
Cornwall.
A hot summers day in Cornwall is like a day spent on the Mediterranean coast. Not only does Cornwall have stunning beaches and tasty pasties, it’s also full of heritage. You could head to Padstow for a tour of its traditional harbour and old style shops or you could go see the iconic St Michael’s mount for a small taste of Cornish history. Either way Cornwall is a perfect destination for a family staycation or a couples getaway.

Lake District
You can’t take a trip to the Lake District without boating on lake Windermere, located in the small town of Windermere you can visit the world of Beatrix potter or Wray castle all in one day. You could pop to Keswick to see experience the Derwent pencil museum which houses the largest pencil in the UK. If you’re looking for a more outdoorsy getaway the Lake District might just be for you.

Isle of Wight
Only a quick ferry ride away from Dorset, the Isle of Wight is a quiet and peacful escape with many sights. Visit the medieval Carisbrooke castle, full of history and culture. Or you cold take a trip to Osborn house, the cherished residence of Queen Victoria. If you have a passion for history and love to walk, visiting the Isle of Wight might but up your street.

Weekends and city breaks:
London
Spend the night in the UK’s capital, a perfect place for anyone and everyone day and night. Treat yourself on some famous fashion streets or celebrate the night life by going to the theatre or some iconic cocktail bars. Visit the London dungeons for some horrible history or take some pics by Big Ben to show your friends. London has more than anyone could ask for and caters for everyone.

Centre Parks
Take the family for a fun filled weekend at Centre Parks, whether you want to be active or just relax, centre parks is the place to be. With the swimming pool and the legendary rapids, you can entertain the family all day long. There’s no need to stray far from the resort with every need catered for, from the onsite shop to the multitude of restaurants. Centre Parks is the ultimate weekend away whether that be with the family or a group of friends.
Edinburgh
The capital city of Scotland is a place full of culture and history. You could spend your morning exploring the medieval Old Town before venturing into the Georgian style new town full of delightful restaurants and bars. Or if you fancied a more energetic day, you could head out to Carlton Hill with its many monuments and memorials. The perfect city break really does exist.

With so many stunning sites to travel to, why would you ever want to leave this beautiful country? However if you do choose to go abroad this year these are the travel safe countries for summer 2021.
