Uni of Gloucestershire Mens football secured a huge 4-0 win on Wednesday afternoon against USW (University of South Wales) thanks to goals from Rene Nistor x3 and a goal from captain, Rory Hunt.
Gloucester came into this game winning one and losing one so far this season. A first game of the season win against Bath put them in a high spirited mode but a poor Plymouth performance last week saw them need a massive response in their next fixture against USW.
For USW, they’ve won one, drawn one and lost one so far in the league this season.

Gloucester started the game slow and couldn’t get into their rythem in the opening minutes whereas for USW pressed well in the opening minutes and put Gloucester under a huge amount of pressure.
The first chance of the game, came to Nistor who saw his effort well saved by the USW keeper. This was the first of many chances Gloucester would create during the game.
Next to test the USW keeper was captain Hunt, he saw his effort roll into the keepers arms. A lot of chances going a stray for the host this afternoon.
Shortly after Hunt’s effort, Nistor glided past two USW defenders and eventually was fouled right outside the penalty box for a free kick in a dangerous position for Gloucester. Centre back Ben Brown stepped up to take the free kick for the hosts, but his effort went way over the bar.
Gloucester kept probing the USW goal, Nistor again is the next to come close for the hosts. Nistor cuts in from the left, he takes an effort and his strike hits the post.
Finally, after the 30 minute mark, Gloucester get their lead. Nistor does well on the left hand side, he cuts in and takes a long ranged effort which sees it fly into the top right corner to make it 1-0 to Gloucester.
Minutes later, Nistor again finds joy down the left, his strike powerfully goes past the USW keeper and into the back of the net to give Gloucester a well deserved 2-0 lead going into the break.
USW have tried to play some nice football, but Gloucester’s press has been too much for them so far.

From Bignell kick, Hunt puts pressure on the back line of USW, he wins the ball, and passes to Rhys-Williams who sees his effort sting the palms of the busy USW keeper.
In the next attack, Hunt gets a well-deserved goal for the hosts. Kory Taylor does well down the left, his cross finds the feet of Hunt who composes himself and slots the ball into the bottom corner to make it THREE for Gloucester.
A fully one sided game. This time it’s Joe Comerford who comes close for the hosts. He finds himself in a lot of space on the edge of the box, the ball gets played into him by Nistor, Comerford has his effort, but his shot is well saved by the USW keeper.
Into the last few minutes of the match, Nistor end the game with match ball and makes it 4-0 to Gloucester. Rhys- Williams glides past three defenders, he looks up and passes to Nistor who only needs to tap the ball into the empty net.
