PREVIEW: Gloucester Rugby vs Harlequins at the Kingsholm

George Skivington’s Gloucester Rugby will host the Harlequins at the Kingsholm tonight in a fifth and sixth place thriller in the 17th round of the Premiership.

Neither side has played in a few weeks whilst the Six Nations has been taking place, and this game may be a significant decider for where the sides finish in the league table this season.

Both sides are coming off the back of a loss, with Gloucester falling 24-17 to Exeter at Sandy Park, and Harlequins losing 42-24 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Each side has a player making a significant appearance in the game tonight with Val Rapava-Ruskin making his 100th appearance for Gloucester, and Danny Care to make his 352nd appearance for Harlequins to break the club’s all time appearance record.

Scotland’s Chris Harris, who has made two appearances off the bench for his national team in the past two weeks, will start in the centre for Gloucester as he has been returned to his club side during this week’s Six Nations break.

Welsh Winger Louis Rees-Zammit will return from an ankle injury sustained on Christmas Eve, to start on the bench for the Cherry and Whites which is a big boost for the club, and hopefully mean’s that his return to international Rugby will come soon in what would be a big boost for Warren Gatland’s struggling Welsh side.

There is a possibility that Rees-Zammit could return to Wales camp as early as next week ahead of their game against England in the Six Nations, but with the ongoing uncertainty around the Welsh Rugby Players Association (WRPA) and their contract crisis, it is still unclear whether or not players will strike meaning that Gatland may not be able to field a side at all.
