Abbeymead Rovers have had to pull their team out from the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League due to struggling with the number of players they were getting on matchdays.
Club Statement reads: As most of you have unfortunately seen, ARFC have regrettably withdrawn our 1st team from the
@GNSLOfficial Div 1 this morning. The decision hasn’t come easy and after weeks of struggling it seemed our only option.
It’s never nice to see a club fold and especially halfway through a season. The expectation will be that Abbeymead will follow suit of Taverners and Cam Bulldogs when they withdrew from the league in recent seasons, in that their Reserves will now become their First Team and so on who play in the Stroud & District League Division Two
We await further news about what’s going to happen to the club as a whole but as of now their main first team have pulled out of the league.
