Pakistan and South Africa continued an evenly contested second test match today in Punjab.
The hosts lost their skipper Babar Azam in the very first over for a well made 77. Anrich Nortje opened the floodgates for the visitor’s, as Azam’s wicket led to a mini collapse for the men in green.
Youngster Faheem Ashraf took Pakistan from a precarious position of 190-6 to 272 all out, scoring an unbeaten 78 which included 12 boundaries.

Anrich Nortje was the pick of the South African bowlers with figures of 5/86, his second five-wicket haul in test cricket.
Pakistan replied brilliant with the ball, with senior paceman Hasan Ali picking up two wickets with the new ball. The hosts continued applying pressure throughout the evening session and ended the day with four South African batsman back in the pavilion.
South Africa ended the day at 106/4, with their captain Quinton de Kock still at the crease on 24*. Day 3 promises to bring more intriguing action with the series steadily poised 1-0 in Pakistan’s favour.
