Owen Farrell free to play against Scotland in Six Nations

England international Owen Farrell will to be available to Steve Borthwick ahead of the 2023 Six Nations.

This comes after the RFU Citing commission set his ban to just four weeks, potentially reduced to three if he completes ‘tackle school’.

The England fly-half came under scrutiny once again as his tackle on Jack Clement was deemed reckless, after his shoulder made direct contact with the head of the Gloucester player.

The ban means Farrell will miss Saracens’ next three fixtures against Lyon, Edinburgh and Bristol but will be free to play against Scotland in Borthwick’s first England game in charge.

This ban however will not be of any meaning to Gloucester fans after his match-winning drop-goal took place after his high tackle which Referee Karl Dickson missed.

The no ‘Red – Card’ ultimately cost the Cherry and Whites as they fell 16-19 to Premiership leaders Sarries in a feisty Friday night Clash.
