I has been announced that Tennis world number one Novak Djokovic could yet be sent to jail if he is found guilty of lying on his travel forms to gain access into Australia.
The Serbian is under investigation by the Australia Border Force after concerns that some of the information he gave to get into the country was false.
The accusations of Djokovic’s lying was stressed when it had been found that Djokovic being seen in Belgrade on Christmas day with handball player Peter Djordjic.
In addition, he was seen playing football with his brother on January 4th, just a day before he flew down under.
Djokovic was allowed to return to the court just days ago after coming out victorious in a legal battle regarding his visa.
I’m pleased and grateful that the Judge overturned my visa cancellation. Despite all that has happened,I want to stay and try to compete @AustralianOpen

I remain focused on that. I flew here to play at one of the most important events we have in front of the amazing fans. 👇 pic.twitter.com/iJVbMfQ037
For someone who was meant to be isolating, he was seen out in public a fair amount…
Now we are hearing that Australia’s immigration minister Alex Hawke can still re-cancel the tennis legend’s visa and deport him from the country.
According to the BBC, a government spokesman has said Hawke is still “thoroughly considering the matter”.
As things stand Djokovic will now have the chance to win a record 21st Grand Slam men’s singles title at Melbourne Park with the tournament starting next Monday, January 17th.
