A chilly Monday night in Wolverhampton, defending Premier League International Cup champions PSV Eindhoven and Wolves walked out ready to play their group stage game with Bruno Jordao the only outfield player donning a pair of gloves.
PSV were looking to make it two wins from two after a victory over Nottingham Forest in their opener. Second half goals from Kam Kandola and Nathan Fraser secured the victory after a dominant performance at Molineux. The latter has been in and around Wolves’ first team squad and was looking to impress Gary O’Neil who was in attendance.

After the match, U21’s boss, James Collins was full of praise for the young striker saying “He’s a great example, (…) works harder than anyone I’ve ever seen.” His holdup and linkup play was phenomenal, particularly in the first half.
The 18 year-old was finally rewarded for his performance with a goal with 10 minutes to go. The forward peeled away from his marker before heading in Owen Hesketh’s corner.
He hopes to have impressed first team coach Gary O’Neil, admitting “it was in the back of my head but didn’t want it to change the way I played.”
Wolves’ next game in the competition is at home again to European opposition as Sparta Praha visit the West Midlands. The Czech side are yet to play in the competition but are unbeaten in their last three games in the Czech 2nd Division.
