David Beckham was in attendance as his son Romeo Beckham made his debut for Brentford B
There aren’t many teams in England who occupy a B team, but Brentford B have been in the news all week as they confirmed the signing of David Beckham’s son Romeo Beckham on loan until the end of the season.
Brentford B striker Michael Olakigbe has given an insight on playing with Beckham, who was on the pitch for a total of 35 minutes.
“It’s been good playing with Romeo, he’s a great guy and a good teammate, he’s fitted in with the squad well.”
“I didn’t know David was at the game until after when it was all over social media, but it’s good to see him watching our games.”
Olakigbe scored a 93rd minute winner after The Bees went 1-0 down after just three minutes, and 2-1 down in the second half.
“I’m very happy with me and the teams reaction to come back after going 1-0 down early on in the game, and going a goal down early in the second half”
“Emotions were very joyful at full time because we scored two late goals to win the game and I scored the winning goal.”
“For my goal I received the ball on the edge of the box and shot, which took a deflection to go in just past the ‘keeper.”
Brentford B face Aston Villa at home tonight at the Laithwaite Community Stadium, before a trip to Monaco midweek.
