Midfielder Molly Powis is targeting promotion this season after joining Hereford Women from near neighbours Hereford Pegasus.
Hereford´s form has been imperious as they have won all six games so far, so it’s not surprising that many players are eager to join the team.
“I just wanted to play some really, really good football,” the 27-year-old said.
“Obviously I´ve been in Hereford for a long time, so I know what teams like and witness them, and from what I’ve seen it is really well played.
“I love to be a part of a team that can keep learning and keep moving and hopefully get promoted to keep going further.”
She admitted that she was nervous to join the team as it was a new environment.
“I was very nervous,” Powis said. “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew it was the right challenge for me.”
However, Powis does mention that the girls have been nothing short of amazing in making her feel very welcomed and helping her settle into the squad.
“They’ve been absolutely brilliant and really, really welcoming,” she said. “I feel like I have been here for ages”
Powis´ recent signing couldn’t have come at a better time as the Bullettes face Kingfisher, the team who are currently top of the league.
Powis made her debut last weekend as the team bagged another three points after their 11-1 win against Nunnery Wood Women.
Despite the impressive scoreline, she admits that she was still finding her feet in the game.

“I just stayed quiet and put my top on. I just calmed myself down a little bit and played the football that I know I can play,
“It is different compared to what I’m used to playing, but I’m just looking forward to keeping going and work on my fitness.”
Head coach John Nash has already given her the nickname “MP” – a sign of the trust he has in her.
She noted that although she enjoyed her debut, she struggled with the style of play, as it´s different to what’s she’s used to.
“I am used to playing within that central role, but in terms of the tactics here – the movement, the play forward – it’s a bit different.
“Normally, I’d hover in the middle before I need to make a move, but here, I have to adapt. I’m working on it and doing my best.”
Although she has just arrived, her goals are clear: “Just make new good friends, make new memories with a good football club a keep enjoying playing my football.
“Hopefully I can get some goals as well because I don’t tend to score, so that would be nice to get on the score sheet.”
Hereford Women play Redditch-based Kingfisher FC Women on Sunday away at 3pm.
