British sprinter CJ Ujah has been banned for just under two years following two failed drug tests at last summer’s Tokyo Olympics.
Ujah was part of the Britsh relay team that won silver in the 4x100m.
However, him and his team were stripped of their medal’s following the failed test.
Testing positive for Ostarine and S-23, it’s been confirmed by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) that Ujah unintentionally ingested a tainted supplement.
With the ban being back-dated to the 6th of August 2021, the Brit will be allowed to compete again next June.
“Taking supplements is risky for athletes as they can be contaminated or even adulterated with prohibited substances.” said AIU head Brett Clothier.
Ujah apologised to his relay teammates Richard Kilty, Zharnel Hughes and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, adding that he would “regret it for the rest of my life”.
