Forest Green Rovers Women could give debuts to new signings Antonia Breach and Lannece Hole as they face Marine Plymouth Academy Ladies this Sunday.
Rovers have struggled with injuries in the past few weeks and will certainly be bolstered by their new signings as well as a recent influx of younger players in the squad.
Interim head coach Tom Needham gave us the lowdown on the new signings and how the team has changed since the last time they faced this weekends opponents.
“We’ve hopefully got some new signings playing on Sunday which will be interesting to see how they get on.
“Hopefully at least one will be in the squad if not both.
“We’ve got a few young players and some new players coming into the squad so it will be a really good test for all of them.”

An almost 300 mile round trip to Plymouth for Rovers this weekend is their fourth and final away game a row.
It’s been an incredible feat of travelling for the side in the last couple weeks who have picked up four points in the three previous games, and Needham has had nothing but praise for his side’s outstanding commitment.
“The players that have travelled have shown real commitment because you know this isn’t their full time job.
“Some of them stayed overnight for the Torquay match so they’re making a really good commitment and all working really hard for the team.”

With the squad being depleted due to injuries, Needham played a youthful side against Middlezoy the week previous, with five 16 year olds making up the starting 11.
“All the players are making a huge sacrifice.”

It’s been great experience for those players and Needham spoke on his delight with their performances and feels there is an exciting future ahead for his side.
“Definitely, some of them have stepped up to it really well and that game against Middlezoy was a really tough and physical battle.
“It’s sort of a baptism of fire really.
“They’ve shown some really good resilience up against a more physical battle than they’re probably used to and some of them are going to be first team regulars soon.”
The action down in Plymouth gets underway on Sunday at two o’clock, at the Marine Academy school.
