Gambia midfielder Ebou Adams has come back to Nailsworth from the African Cup of Nations “an even better player” according to boss Rob Edwards.
Adams recently returned from the tournament in Cameroon having helped his country to the quarter finals in their first ever appearance.
But he’s back now and will look to line-up away at a Sutton United side who he netted a last gasp winner against on the opening day of the season.
“He had an amazing experience, we were really proud of him and now he’s back it’s about business as usual, Forest Green Rovers.
“Ebou demands the best of himself.
“He loves the club, he loves our lads and he’d never come back a different person. It was a wonderful experience for him and he’s come back an even better player.”

Rovers came from behind to defeat Rochdale 2-1 at The Fully Charged New Lawn on Tuesday to extend their unbeaten league run to 18 games.
They face a sterner test this Saturday however, as they take on Matt Gray’s Sutton who currently sit in fourth place, albeit 16 points behind their weekend opponents.
Off the back of one of their trickiest games of the season, Edwards is under no illusion of the threats that the U’s will bring this weekend.
“Every game provides a different test. Rochdale were a more possession based team than Sutton but that doesn’t mean one way is better than the other.
“Sutton are probably happy to not have as much but then they can hurt you and hurt you quickly.
“As always we’ll do our homework and we’ll be ready for the test ahead.”

The return of Jack Aitchison on loan in the Summer brought much excitement in GL6 after an impressive loan spell back in the 2019/20 season.
Aitchison’s start to the season was quite slow however, playing second fiddle to Ebou Adams in that number 10 sport during the first half of the season.
But after becoming more of a mainstay in the squad in recent weeks and scoring the equaliser in Tuesday’s win, gaffer Edwards was very pleased with the Scot’s fight to get into the starting XI on a more regular basis.
“He has the quality to get lots of goals and assists and I’m absolutely delighted how he’s performing. He gives it everything every single day and he works incredibly hard.
“He wasn’t necessarily fully fit to start so he would’ve been in the mix then.
“If he starts getting more goals its just going to take him to another level again and hopefully he can do that in the coming games.”
The League Two leaders are yet to lost away from home this campaign but against a side who haven’t lost at home since October, it’s set to be yet another extremely tough test.
