This is your Thursday catch-up on all of Wednesday night’s EFL Championship games, including Queens Park Rangers shock win over London rivals Brentford and Swansea City’s win over Nottingham Forest as well as many more.
Queens Park Rangers 2-1 Brentford
This week’s shock result from the Championship as struggling QPR beat Brentford at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, in the West London derby, Club legend Charlie Austin, currently on loan from West Brom, scored the winner to thwart Brentford’s chances of automatic promotion.
Swansea City 1-0 Nottingham Forest
A brilliant header from full back Connor Roberts won the game late on for the Swans who are now just two points behind Brentford in second place, with two games in hand on them. Nottingham Forest on the other hand remain in 18th position.
Coventry City 0-2 Norwich City
Two individual errors from the Sky Blues led to top of the table Norwich’s goals as star striker Teemu Puki and Emi Buendia scored either side of half time to extend the Canaries lead at the top of the table four points. Coventry meanwhile remain in 20th position, just three points above the drop zone.
Bournemouth 1-0 Rotherham United
The Cherries got back to winning ways following a narrow 1-0 victory over Rotherham at Dean Court. A solo strike from Phillip Billing ensured that the home side maintained their status in the play-off places, as they extended their lead over Cardiff in 7th to 6 points.
Millwall 2-0 Birmingham City
Millwall grabbed their third straight victory in a row after brushing aside relegation threatened Birmingham City 2-0 at The Den, thanks to goal from Jed Wallace and Ben Thompson. Millwall push up to 11th, 8 points off the play-off places.
