News Days are back, this time with a brand new team! After our first year being limited due to COVID-19 restrictions, it’s refreshing to have the opportunity to all be together in the newsroom following guidelines, so we can be present over social media, radio and the web now and in the coming weeks. This Thursday, we’re going to have a variety of stories coming from our level five journalism students.

Looking across the themes of COVID and COP26, we’ve got something that will spark your interests. We’re finding reactions from the disaster at the Travis Scott music festival and how that affects the ways you view safety when going to large-scale events.

With it being Remembrance Day today, we’re focusing our time on bringing you updates about the main event in Cheltenham and seeing what your views are as the public. We’re paying our own respects in the newsroom doing our two minutes of silence as well as two members of our team attending the event at Montpellier. After a difficult battle with COVID, we still all manage to come together on this inspirational day. Keep an eye out on social media for our clips from the events attended.

Did you know it’s also National Adoption Month? Something we all know about is adoption, but we don’t really talk about it. We’re bringing these stories to you with interviews of parents and young people who have been through the system themselves or taken on children from social work.

We’re pushing forward to Christmas too, finding the best places to get your Christmas trees and the wide variety of events in Gloucestershire for you to go to. We all need that Christmas sparkle to help light up the end of a difficult year. Find out the hot spots to go for your shopping and food with the expanding high street and how to support local small businesses for your Christmas outfit.

That’s not all though – keep an eye out for stories to suit everyone, all with a local link! We’re covering all the stories you want to hear, and even bringing a new spin to biggest stories in the news today!
