Zak Vyner has admitted Bristol City need to “channel” their frustrations in the right way to put an end to their poor form.
The Robins have won one in 13 across all competitions as they sit precariously close to the drop zone in 19th position.
Vyner has featured in 12 of those games and not only wants to avenge the 3-0 October defeat to Saturday’s opponents Birmingham City but put a stop to the rot.
“It is frustrating as we are putting in some good performances and it is that last clicking edge, we need to turn and get that clicking,” said Vyner.
“When it does those draws will turn into wins.
The manner in which the Robins succumbed to the 3-0 defeat against the Blues on October 8th was a low point for their season.
He said: “The reverse fixture was well below standards for us, and they tried to capitalise on the set pieces and that is something we have to be wary of and have to stand up to it.”
Despite only returning eight points and a draw in the FA Cup in their last 13 games, the centre back stressed the mood in the camp is positive with an end to it in sight.
He added: “There’s not a doom and gloom feel about the place and that’s because we are putting in the performances for spells in the game and we need to drag those spells a bit longer and making sure we are capitalising when we are dominating.”
However, the Englishman went onto admit how he and the players feel the same way as the fans do.
He added: “We’re feeling the pressure and it is a collective unit. We’re not trying to shy away from that.
“When we lose, draw or feel like we should’ve got more out of the game we feel it as much as the fans, the gaffer or the next person.”
The mental side of the game is huge for the defender, and he lauded his teammate Rob Atkinson for how he responded after his costly error against Swansea on Sunday.
He added: “Rob showed amazing mental strength to continue, and I think he had a really good game after that.
“It is in your mind, but you have to do the best you can to forget about it.”
If Vyner features on Saturday it will be his 26th appearance of the season and becoming a regular in the team has been massive in allowing him to work on and improve his game.
He added: “If we’re trying to pass the ball at the back whoever it is back there can be important in starting attacks.
“I have myself looked at that and tried to improve little areas and give myself that extra one percent and extra little lift that I feel like was needed.”
