During the FA Cup tie against Manchester City, Chelsea fans were noticed singing Thomas Tuchel and Roman Abramovich chants as the Blues picked up a disastrous 4-0 defeat at the Etihad, writes Dziugas Kandrotas.
That is the first time Chelsea have exited both domestic cup competitions at the first stage for the first time in 34 years
The London side have only managed to pick up one win in the last 10 games and that was against a weak Bournemouth side.
Graham Potter has found it difficult at the wheel of Chelsea.
A major cause of this is huge amounts of injuries suffered by the first team players.
At current moment Chelsea have 10 first team injuries with the likes of Reece James, N’golo Kante and Raheem Sterling who are all starting players when fully fit.
Currently sitting 10th in the league it’s looking horrible for the Chelsea fans. That is the worst placement since Jose Mourinho in 2015/16 campaign.
Fans and former players of Chelsea aren’t hiding their disappointment.
The change of ownership is seeming to be in favour of Potter, as ex-owner Roman Abramovich was known for his cruel sacking of managers that are heavily underperforming.
Rival manager Pep Guardiola believes: ‘’I would say to Todd Boehly, give him time. I know in the big clubs the results are important but give him time.’’
Boehly believes the same as the American owner hasn’t been shy with their spendings and showed his backing for Potter.
Recently the West London side have signed promising young talents to strengthen the squad. Andrey Santos, Benoit Badiashile and Datro Fofana are the new January additions for the Blues.
If no sudden improvement of form from Chelsea is seen, a change will be needed.
Graham Potter has one chance remaining to achieve a good run in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, as chances for Europe next season are looking very slim.
Fans only hope for one thing and that’s a positive turnaround.
