“Cardiff City were within their rights to appeal” Jordan Jones on Emiliano Sala and Cardiff City’s embargo

After almost four years Cardiff City have payed the first instalment of £7 million to Nantes for Emiliano Sala after his sad passing in 2019. As a result transfer embargo put on the club has now been lifted.

Jordan Jones the creator of YClwbPelDroed feels Cardiff had every right to delay paying the fee: “I think Cardiff were well within their rights to appeal against the decision, and that the Sala situation is something we don’t see in football often”.

Jones commented on how the embargo would have effected Cardiff’s season saying:

“they’re in a precarious position in the league table, and not signing anyone would have almost certainly made them destined for relegation, Clubs like Wigan are going crazy and signing several new players, so Cardiff need some reinforcements”.

The Embargo has now been lifted to an extent with Cardiff allowed to sign free players and loans, The Welsh Journalist had his say on who he thinks Cardiff should sign: “recalled by Everton from Sunderland, and it may be slightly unrealistic but from what I have seen of Ellis Simms He’d be my shout”.

“I think he’d be the striker that could score the goals to keep them up, he’s young, he’s hungry and he’s proven he can score in the Championship. I suppose the only issue is Cardiff can’t offer a loan fee, and Sunderland are doing considerably better”.

With Cardiff now able to sign players there’s defiantly a higher chance of staying up, Jones agrees saying: “From the performance against Leeds, which was their reserve players ultimately, I think that is a platform to build on”.

“There are some players that just don’t fit in at Cardiff, but it’s a new squad, the likes of Callum O’Dowda, Callum Robinson and Ryan Wintle are the players that will be pivotal for the clubs survival”.

“Mark Hudson’s only just starting his career out in management and will not want a relegation of a club he holds dear to his heart on his CV. If they can utilise the markets I can’t see why they won’t stay up”.
