There has been plenty of talk about Cardiff City signing former Forest Green Rovers striker Connor Wickham, with the club looking to solve their attacking problems.
Now Cardiff manager Sabri Lamouchi has presented a major update regarding the move, with the manager stating a transfer is likely to happen.
“We are discussing. We are trying to sign him, so he is training with us. I hope he will be part of the squad.
“It was the timing and opportunity. We don’t have a lot of opportunity or a lot of time. He was around and training. His experience in this league can help us and help the squad.” (Wales Online)
Wickham was previously at Forest Green Rovers, but since his short-term contract expired, he has been a free agent.
The striker got nine goals for the club this season, including an incredible goal in the FA Cup against South Shields. Cardiff would be the Englishman’s tenth club if he completes the switch.
Cardiff City will be looking to end their goalscoring problems against Middlesbrough on Saturday. It remains to be seen if Wickham will play any sort of role in that match.
