British 100m champion, Reece Prescod will compete in the GreatCityGames in Manchester starting on Friday against fellow teammate Harry Aikines- Aryeetey.
The 22-year-old beat the current World Champion Justin Gatlin as well as upcoming silver medal athlete, Andre De Grasse during the Shanghai Diamond League at the weekend.
Prescod was 0.01 seconds off his personal best, which makes him the seventh fastest man in the world.
“It is definitely the happiest moment in my time on the Diamond League circuit,” Prescod said.
“When I saw the rain tonight I thought, ‘yes’ – I train in these conditions all the time in the East Midlands. It suits me.
“My expectations going in were I knew I had it in me as long as I executed my race.”
The action will take place on Friday 18th May, these games provide a unique setting giving the athletes a chance to compete in urban environments in the heart of the city.
