Young back Tom Hudson has become the latest Gloucester player to sign a contract extension at the club.
Having made his senior Cherry & White debut in a win against Saracens at home last November, a game in which he scored, after graduating from Gloucester’s Academy the young center is looking forward to continuing to play in front of the Kingsholm faithful.
“The supporters have been fantastic to play in front of, and I’m excited to keep doing that going forward,” he said.
After his rugby career nearly came to an abrupt end after a mystery injury to his abductor and groin, which saw him out of the game for four years, it has been through hard work and determination that the player from Newcastle-upon-Tyne has had the opportunity to sign a new contract with the club.
The 23-year-old said: “I’m chuffed to be staying at the club, I’ve really enjoyed my rugby and know that we have a lot of exciting times ahead.
“It’s a great environment to be in, challenging players to get better every day, and I’m where I want to be.”
Director of rugby David Humphreys said: “Tom has been an important member of our squad this season, and we’re delighted that we have agreed a deal for him to stay with us to continue his development at Gloucester.
“He has taken every challenge head on, and has looked comfortable playing in several positions across the backline, and this and this is important in terms of giving us strength and depth in the squad.”
