Argentina Vs England: Two Gloucester Rugby players in squad for third place play off

Gloucester Rugby full back Santiago Carreras will start at ten tonight in Argentina’s third place play off verses England at Stade de France.

Carreras and his Argentinian teammates will look to leave France on some what of a positive, after they were dismantled 44-6 by New Zealand in their semi-final match.

However, standing in their way is a strong England side that have already beaten Argentina in their first pool match of the tournament.

England narrowly lost in their semi-final match against South Africa after a 78th minute penalty was scored to give The Springboks a one-point lead going into the final minutes of the game.

Gloucester also has more interest with Argentinian Matias Alemanno on the bench for Los Pumas as a replacement, they line-up as follows:

Argentina: Mallia; Boffelli, Cinti, De la Fuente, M Carreras; S Carreras, Cubelli; Gallo, Montoya (captain), Kodela, Pagadizabal, Rubiolo, Gonzalez, Kremer, Isa.

Replacements: Creevy, Sclavi, Bello, Alemanno, Bruni, Velez, Sanchez, Moroni.

England also have Gloucester Rugby wing Jonny May in the squad however he has been left out of this fixture, May believes this World Cup could be his last as he is rumoured to retire from international rugby after the tournament.

England line-up as follows:

England: Smith; Steward, Marchant, Tuilagi, Arundell; Farrell (captain), Youngs; Genge, Dan, Stuart, Itoje, Chessum, Curry, Underhill, Earl.

Replacements: George, Rodd, Cole, Ribbans, Ludlam, Care, Ford, Lawrence.
