“A wee bit unlucky”- Duncan Ferguson as winless Forest Green head to Ipswich Town this weekend.

Match Preview

Kick-off: 3pm. Location: Portman Road

Ipswich Town welcome Forest Green Rovers to Portman Road which is vital for both teams in their fight for promotion and survival.

“There’s not going to be a big difference, so if we carry on what we’ve done in the first four games I’m sure we’d do well” claims Duncan Ferguson who is winless in his first four games for the club.

Rovers have conceded late in two of the four games leading to dropped vital points and Dunc labelled this as “a wee bit unlucky”.

Forest Green sit rock bottom of League One after getting promoted last season, but have also played at least two more than the other clubs in the drop zone.

The performances on the pitch for Rovers have actually been a lot better than that of under Burchnall but, due to a lack of concentration they drew to Morecambe late on and conceded two late goals to Shrewsbury.

Manchester United loanee Charlie Savage made his debut midweek after taking his time to settle in to which big Dunc said “I was really pleased, he came on and gave us good energy but was really good technically”.

Savage was one of the many loan signings made by Ferguson and before this game hadn’t made the matchday squad for what is unknown.

At one point the club had six signings which Dunc called it “a bit difficult” but now have five fit ones so it’s easier for the previous Everton interim to make a decision for these players.

Ipswich are winless in five games, drawing their last three league games and one to Burnley in the FA cup before inevitably losing in the replay.

Due to these lack of wins Forest Green will feel as though they have as good chance as anyone against the former Premier League side.

In terms of team news Jordan Moore-Taylor is the only certain absentee as far as things go as Dunc didn’t mention any other names.

For Ipswich, Massimo Luongo and George Edmundson remain doubts still but a certain player not to be in the squad is midfielder Lee Evans. With also Dom Ball, Panutche Camara, and Tyreece John-Jules being much longer absentees.

Nathan Broadhead started on the bench last game against Bristol Rovers, due to coming off with cramp against Sheffield Wednesday but he should be set to start again.
