Cheltenham Town Women manager Tom Davies is “excited for the challenge” as his side travel to top of the division Hashtag United this Sunday.
“We’re after something similar in terms of how the game pans out,” Davies said, referring to the 1-1 draw CTWFC achieved against Hashtag in September. In last year’s game between the sides at Parkside, Cheltenham’s own Una Lue scored to secure a 1-0 upset.
“We know that we’ve improved since that game and we know they have as well. We know if we perform, we can match these sides.”

The Robins’ previous fixture in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier was postponed after AFC Wimbledon’s pitch was deemed unplayable not long before kick-off.
A congested schedule awaits the side in the coming weeks, with their Gloucestershire FA Senior Women’s Cup semi-final against Forest Green Rovers Women scheduled for a 7:45pm kick off on Thursday at Kayte Lane.
“We’re full squad, give or take a few on the way back in,” Davies said. “We’ve got extra players in training at the moment, which we may or may not bring into the squad.
“We’re chomping at the bit now. It’s a run of fixtures we can really sink our teeth into again.”
Cheltenham currently sit 9th in the league table, with 17 points to Hashtag’s 42. The Essex-based club have won 13 of their 18 games this season and are poised for promotion to the second tier.
But Davies and his team refuse to be intimidated by the side, instead remaining optimistic for the game and the run of fixtures to come.
“We want to play games of football, we want to be in competitive games and we are so that excites us. We’re ready to go.”
