‘FoodLoose’ is moving base to Grosvenor Terrace after securing £60,000 of investment from nearly 100 investors, part of an extremely successful community share offer scheme during December.
Currently located in Portland Street, the shop will continue to trade until November 26th. Until its grand opening on December 3rd coinciding with its 4-year anniversary. The move is said to offer the zero waste store higher visitation numbers and more room.
The store offers refills on a wide range organic products such as nuts, pasta, herbs, oils and kitchenware, with a focus on sustainability. FoodLoose believes that a new way of shopping is possible that reduces plastic waste and supports ethical working practices.
Cat Elton of the FoodLoose team says: “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to expand our vision with these new premises. We were blown away by the support offered by our community to fund the move, and we can’t wait to see our dreams come to life as FoodLoose enters its next era”
Originally set up in 2018 by Global Footsteps Charity as a response to a ‘Plastic Free July’ campaign, the store was growing until the COVID 19 pandemic where they closed for several months.
However, the team still have big plans for the project, becoming independent and establishing its own management board as ‘FoodLoose Limited’. Expanding and building stronger links within the community.
