“I’ve signed up for the Paris marathon next year, I can’t wait to do a proper run after doing a half one this year,” Cheltenham Town Women’s defender, Libby Bell, has got into running this year, her main reason was to “Build fitness,
“transitioning from a midfielder at Bristol Rovers to now a wing-back at Cheltenham, I knew i was going to have to do a lot of running.” It’s all about building on that fitness now for Libby, not only for the next season with Cheltenham, but now for the Paris marathon which takes place in April 2026.
Bell also believes this hobby brings people together, an important thing in life for not only her, but everyone, “In 2025 you may think people don’t chat to each other as much, or even are friendly, but when you are doing a race like this, everyone is there for you.”
Libby wants more next year, not only with running, but with football. After missing out on two trophies this year with Cheltenham, she wants to cross that finish line in her next season.
