Women’s Super League: Can Chelsea Close The Gap To Arsenal?

All 12 teams are in action this weekend as the race for the title heats up.

Reading take on Manchester United in the early kick-off on Saturday. Reading played out a 0-0 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur in their previous game, while United ran out 4-0 winners against Leicester City.

The Foxes are in action against Everton this weekend, while Spurs take on Manchester City.

Second place Chelsea face up against Aston Villa. The Blues are currently five points behind league leaders Arsenal, but have two games in hand, meaning they have the chance to claim top spot should they win both matches.

They won their last fixture 4-1 against London rivals West Ham.

The Hammers travel to face bottom place Birmingham City. Birmingham are cemented to the bottom of the table and have picked up just four points all season, losing each of their last five league matches.

The final match of the weekend sees league leaders Arsenal travel to the south coast to take on Brighton. Although at the top of the league, the Gunners will need to keep putting points on the board as chasers Chelsea sit five points behind them with two games in hand.

League top scorer Vivianne Miedema will be hungry to extend her lead at the peak of the top scorers table. The Dutch forward has ten goals and five assists in the league this season.
