Will Ferry scored his first goal for Cheltenham Town as they helped to defeat Port Vale at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium.
The 23-year-old couldnât hide his excitement as he helped the Robins to their third successive victory.Â
ââIt feels a bit better as the winner. I canât really remember as I got too excited. Obviously it was my right foot so I panicked a little once I kicked it but when it hit the net I am not really sure what happened I donât remember just I am really happy.ââ
The man of the match admitted that scoring did have that special feeling for him.
âObviously I am buzzing. I’ve been here a while and I still haven’t scored a bit of weight off my shoulders and obviously at the end of the day itâs three points so buzzing for us to get the result and thatâs the main thing really. â

Those three points ensured that Cheltenham moved to within a point of climbing out the relegation zone, with two games in hand over their nearest team in the table Charlton.
The former Southampton and Crawley full back believes that the tide is turning for Cheltenham and they are finally getting the result on the board that they deserve.
âThat bit of consistency is something that we have not quite had all season first time that weâve got three wins in a row shows that everything we have been doing on the training ground is all paying off and it feels good to be winning and that confidence is something that is going to carry us through to the end of the season.
Cheltenham were always in the ascendancy during the game and limited Port Vale to just six shots on goal and one shot in the second half.Â
The Bury-born wingback felt confident in the team and ensuring they could keep their stellar run of form going.
âI think we were confident all game. It was really disappointing that it was a set piece and the second one was another sloppy goal. You canât make excuses for that but again I think the fact that we came back and showed the character shows how confident we are and that is something the gaffer has put us into us.
As long as we keep it going and we are on the right track.â
Ferry believes that their strong run of form is no surprise and credits the appointment of Darrell Clarke to their strong form in the league.
“I think weâve got a really good group and I donât think anyone thatâs come in can deny that or say something different.
The gaffer has helped and picked us up but we are buzzing to get to the games and show what we are doing and what we are about.”
Town are away to Wigan Athletic in their next fixture on Friday night as they aim to go for their fourth succesive victory in a row in League One
