“We’re confident we’re going to get a result” – Cheltenham Town Women’s Manager Tom Davies on Wolverhampton Wanderers clash

Cheltenham Town Women’s manager Tom Davies is confident ahead of this weekend’s National League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Wolves currently sit second in the table, one point behind league leaders Nottingham Forest.

Most recently, they secured an impressive 8-0 victory over local rivals West Bromwich Albion.

Davies acknowledged the threat Wolves pose, but highlighted the fact that his side must focus on themselves to get a positive result.

He stated: “We’re playing Wolves for the first time in a competitive match. It’s really exciting.

“We know what they are. We know what they have, they’ve got a great group of staff, which I know well, and some fantastic players.

“We’re going to really focus on what we want to get out of this game. And if we go and perform, we’re confident we’re going to get a result, but Wolves are a great side.”

The FA Cup draw took place on Monday, with The Robins set to have a home fixture against Yeovil Town.

“Cup runs are there for a reason and an upset has happened, so we have to be really aware of it,” said Davies.

“They’ve already caused an upset with Southampton win the other week.

“We have to be really vigilant in how we prepare for that. But it’s a home draw and we always say if we get a home draw, we’ve got a really good opportunity.

“So, it’s another opportunity for us to go and play and we’ll do our homework and our preparation that we do every time.”
