Wales squad named for Six Nations championship

The 36-man squad, including uncapped players, have been named for the championship taking place in February and March.

Three uncapped players make an appearance for the squad this year which include: Dewi Lake (hooker), Jac Morgan (back row) and James Ratti (back row).

The squad contains 20 forwards including Wyn Jones, Gareth Thomas, Aaron Wainwright, Tomas Francis and Adam Beard. It also contains 16 backs including Liam Williams, Gareth Anscombe, Louis Rees-Zammit, Josh Adams and Rhys Priestland.

Captain for the last Six Nations championship, Alun Wyn Jones, has not been called up due to injury and therefore his captaincies have been awarded to Dan Biggar. Adam Beard has been named as Vice Captain.

Fly- half Gareth Anscombe, who hasn’t long come back from a major knee injury in August 2019, is a key player in the Wales squad and will play his first Six Nations in 2 years.

Nine players from Cardiff Rugby have been called up, seven players from Scarlets, eight players from Ospreys, six players from Gwent Dragons and one player each from Gloucester, Bristol Bears, Exeter Chiefs, Ulster, Northampton Saints and Saracens.
