Wales coach Wayne Pivac unveiled his 36-man squad for the 2021 Six Nations, selecting the uncapped Josh MacLeod of the Scarlets along with Gloucester Rugby’s own Louis Rees-Zammit, who retains his place in the team.
There was much talk of the possibility of a WRU-approved exceptional circumstances clause that would allow Rhys Priestland to return to the international side, but this evidently did not come into fruition with the Bath fly-half missing out on selection, with Pivac instead opting for Jarrod Evans.
Veteran scrum-half Rhys Webb also does not make the side, while Dan Lydiate is recalled for the first time since his last international cap in 2018.
