Having won the Cup and the League double already this year, UOG men’s hockey have now set their focus on becoming Varsity victors for a 16th year running.
Last year saw the Gloucestershire based team secure a 4-1 win. This years fixture takes place at St.Peters School in Gloucester at 16:30 tomorrow.
With many players in the team such such as Ash Watterson, Jack Tebb and Peter Rayward all graduating at the end of this year, securing the treble would be a huge achievement and a great way to end their university hockey careers.
Wins this time last year for both women’s and men’s teams put UOG into a Varsity lead 12-9.
UOG are currently trailing their rivals 5-9 in the overall competition, so depending on results today in the golf, athletics and swimming; a win for the men’s hockey team could end up being vital in the overall standings.
