UOG Women’s Rugby captain Madi Williams described her team’s loss as “definitely a tough one to take” against Cardiff Met

UoG Women’s Rugby team lost 93-5 against Cardiff Met Women’s Rugby 2s at Plock Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Captain Madi Williams spoke after the game, about her team’s performance: “We knew Cardiff Met were going to be a strong side. We’ve obviously played them for the last three weeks, so we knew it was going to be a tough one.

“Plenty to work-on, but I’m still happy that the girls are still smiling coming off the pitch.”

The teams spirit was highlighted when they scored their only try of the game, and the celebrations after showed the spirit and how the team is coming together.

Williams also described how her team need to work on their weaknesses before going away for the Christmas break: “I think we just look to build on what our weaknesses were.

“When we got the ball and when we had intensity, I think we’re very good. It’s just the little minor things that we need to definitely work on and we will rebuild into next week’s fixture.”

Being on the sidelines for the last couple of weeks has been hard for the Williams and the Women’s team, but the captain told us she will be back soon.

“I’ll be there next week. I’ve had a few weeks off because I broke my nose, so I’ll definitely be back next week against Hartpury.”
