Prince Henry’s hat-trick helped Bristol City under-23s return to winning ways in style with a 4-0 win over Millwall under-23s.
The 18-year-old forward scored twice in the first half and, after Duncan Idehen’s headed goal, completed his hat-trick with a sweeping left-footed shot.
It’s the young Robins’ first win since beating Queens Park Rangers 4-3 back in January, and after three games without a win, Henry was happy with how he and his team performed.
“We defended well as a team, [coming into the game] the task was to get a clean sheet,” Henry told Park Life Sport post-match.
“After half-time the task was to score more goals, and we did, so it was a good team performance.
“We did well to get goals and defend well, and we actually passed the ball well through the thirds.”
Barney Soady had a big hand in Henry’s first two goals, he forced a save that his strike partner was able to convert and later delivered a brilliant cross that was headed back across goal for Henry to pounce upon.
Henry was quick to compliment Soady for his efforts during the match.
“He’s got a lot of energy, he’s always driving with the ball,” Henry continued.
“He’s good to be playing alongside and it’s really encouraging to see him doing well.”
