Prestbury Rovers forward Harry Greenhalgh believes they can “aim for the top four places” with the team they have

Prestbury Rovers new signing Harry Greenhalgh is looking to lay down a marker this weekend against Southside Star in the Cheltenham Premier Division.

Greenhalgh has only played three games for Prestbury but has got off to a flying start with two goals in his last two games.

Prestbury Rovers play Southside Star this Saturday in a fixture which will be replayed in December in the quarter finals of the cup.

Greenhalgh believes it is important that Prestbury get one over Southside in this fixture.

He said: “Because we are playing them in the cup, I think its important that we get our foot down on this one, because we have to show how good we actually are in this game.”

Prestbury currently sit eighth in the league with a slow start to the season, but they are beginning to find form as they have won two games on the bounce for the first time this season.

Greenhalgh thinks this is a crucial moment for the club at this point in the season.

He said: “I think it is really important considering this is the first time we’ve won twice in a row this season.

“I think this this will give us good momentum going into the next game, and I’m looking forward to how we play in these next few games.”

They beat Fintan in the cup 2-0 and beat Shurdington Rovers last week in the league 3-2. Greenhalgh thinks the reason for the recent form is due to the team taking time to find cohesion.

He said: “I think a lot of it is just chemistry, and just working out how we want to play with all these new players.

“I think we’re learning how we all play, including me, I’m trying to learn how other people play because I thought we would be playing counter attacking football.

“But now we are playing more of a slow style of play, a lot of build up moving into the final third to produce chances.”

Prestbury Rovers have also had quite a few new players in there last three matches and Greenhalgh believes that has played a part in Prestbury’s recent form.

He said: “I think it’s definitely because there has been a lot of younger players that have come through like myself.

“We have got the legs, unlike some of the older guys at the club, we can run around and do a lot of the pressing for them, and they can play the game they want, so I think it does make a massive impact.”

Prestbury Rovers, who sit eighth in the league, will face off with tenth place Southside Star at Prestbury playing fields tomorrow at 14:00.
