Premier League preview: Rangnick vs Conte and can Liverpool keep up with Manchester City?

The next round of Premier League fixtures come round as fast as the last went, and all 20 teams are in action this weekend.

Brighton get us kicked off at 12:00 on Saturday. They host title chasers Liverpool at the AMEX stadium. The Reds sit six points behind leaders Manchester City, but have a game in hand over Pep Guardiola’s men.

Liverpool have dropped points just eight times this season, with one of those matches being a 2-2 draw in the reverse of this fixture back in October. The Reds ran out 1-0 winners against West Ham in their previous league match.

The Seagulls have lost four Premier League games in a row and have slipped into 13th place following their 2-1 loss to Newcastle United last weekend.

Graham Potter will need his players to be firing against this Liverpool team, as they have managed to score just one goal in their last four matches.

Brentford face Burnley later on in the afternoon, and Thomas Frank will be looking to win consecutive league games for the first time this season.

Star striker Ivan Toney managed a hat trick in his last game as the Bees beat Norwich City 3-1.

Sean Dyche will want to get back to winning ways after two consecutive losses in the league.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Manchester United face off against Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils will need to put in a performance after their torrid display in the Manchester Derby last weekend.

Antonio Conte is looking to win for a third time in a row following Spurs’ dominant displays against Leeds and Everton.

Harry Kane is in a rich vain of form and has four goal contributions in his last two games.

On Sunday, six matches take place. Southampton face Watford on the south coast, while Everton travel to Molineux to play Wolves.

World champions Chelsea host in-form Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, in a match where both sides are in terrific form.

The Blues have won three in a row, while Newcastle are looking to extend their unbeaten run to ten league games in a row.

Winter signing Bruno Guimarães scored his first goal for the Magpies in their 2-1 win against Southampton last night.

Relegation threatened Leeds United host Norwich City at Elland Road and Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa take on West Ham at the London Stadium.

Villa won their third game in a row on Thursday, beating Leeds 3-0 and not conceding a goal in 270 minutes of football.

Phillippe Coutinho in in fine form and since his debut for the Villains, no midfielder has contributed to more goals than the Brazilian.

The final match of the day sees Arsenal host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta will be looking to do the double over the Foxes for the first time since the 2015-16 season, Leicester’s title winning year.

Although very narrow wins, the Gunners have won each of their last four games, moving them into the top four and the Champions League places.

Their last match saw them squeeze past Watford in a 3-2 win. Three fantastic goals from Ødegaard, Saka and Martinelli was enough to overcome the Hornets and move above Manchester United into fourth.

The last matchweek fixture sees Champions Manchester City play Crystal Palace. Pep Guardiola’s players will be in good spirit following their 4-1 demolition of Manchester United last weekend and will be wanting to maintain their points gap from second place Liverpool.

Man City have lost just three games all season, but one of those losses came in the reverse fixture, with Palace beating the Sky Blues 2-0 at the Etihad in October.

Patrick Vieira will want his players to do everything they can to maintain their good turn in form. The Eagles have picked up seven points in their last three matches.
