Netflix will air documentary reflecting on murder of Hollie Gazzard

British true crime documentary ‘My Lover, My Killer’ will show an episode focusing on the Gloucester murder of Hollie Gazzard.

The Netflix show, in its second series, will recount the events leading to the tragedy, when 20 year-old Hollie was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend.

The incident occurred at Fringe Benefits and La Bella Beauty salon in February 2014. Asher Maslin from Cheltenham, aged 22, admitted to the crime and was jailed for life, serving a minimum of 24 years imprisonment.

Hollie had been stabbed 14 times and passed away two hours later at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as a result of massive blood loss.

Hollie had broke off the relationship with Maslin days before the attack happened. However, her ex-partner’s behaviour grew even more threatening, including stealing money from her bank account and sending her violent text messages.

The Hollie Gazzard Trust was set up following the murder, by parents Nick and Mandy and Hollie’s sister Chloe. Their website states that they want to ‘help reduce domestic violence through creating and delivering programmes on domestic abuse and promoting healthy relationships to schools and colleges.’
