In memory of Richard Allsopp: Cheltenham Town to honour dedicated Robins Trust board member on Saturday

Cheltenham Town will pay tribute to Trust board member Richard Allsopp at Saturday’s game against Charlton Athletic.

Richard’s birthday is January 14, and the Robins will pay their respects by showing his image on the scoreboard at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium in the 14th minute of this weekend’s fixture.

His parents, Gus and, Anne, are guests of the Trust FED Dave Beesley and will be in the boardroom for the game. His sisters and nephews will also be in attendance.

Richard suffered from a rare condition called Noonan Syndrome that can lead to heart abnormalities.

The Robins Trust are collected money at the ground to raise funds for the Noonan Syndrome Association, a charity that helps people and families affected by the condition.

The Trust has arranged for a plaque to be placed where he and his father watched home games in the stadium.

Trust chair James Young has said he “misses Rich’s enthusiasm and friendship and has long wanted to pay special tribute to him.”

“We hope that all Robins fans dig deep in Rich’s memory to fund research into a little-known condition.”
