Rory Hunt saw his UOG side win in the Western Conference Cup first round on Wednesday afternoon defeating USW (University of South Wales) 4-0 at Plock Court.
After his side’s win on Wednesday, Hunt said: “It was a brilliant win from our boys. I thought we were intense throughout.
“I thought tactically we were sound, we stayed on top, there were patches in the game where USW were a threat but I felt like we had control, and we were clinical. It was just an excellent performance all around”.
After Wednesday’s victory Hunt talked about what he wants from his side this season:
“Personal targets? I want a cup run. I want to push for promotion out of this league, coming down relegated the last couple of seasons.
“I feel like we’ve got a real title charge on our hands here. I feel like if we can get things right, get availability and make sure that we keep injuries down and things like that, we can really go for it. So, why not?”

Hunt had his say on his sides start to the season, and how well his side is coming together:
“They’re an amazing group of boys. I feel like we really got lucky this year with the freshers coming in, getting stuck in and working really hard.
“I feel like we’ve got everything we need to push forward. I feel like we’ve got good commitment throughout the team, so I couldn’t really be happier with the lads coming in”.
