Early in the year we saw the fifth season release of the motorsport series showcasing the behind-the-scenes action of the Formula One world championship. The series has collated a great sum of attention, hitting just under 570,000 views in the first week of the release of season five. As a docuseries, the layout and content has instigated a larger interest from newer audiences with its dramatic style and representation of the sport. Each season contains ten episodes, each focused on individual teams and follows the outcomes of their season overall.
Covering all of the crashes, failures, victories, conflicts, its fair to say the docuseries has successfully captivated its viewership, yet there have been times the show twists situations and incidents to boost interest. With a reputation as a more exclusive sport, the series breaks this down considering how unfiltered the moments they capture are and the transparency. Breaking those barriers, Drive to Survive has attracted new fans and a wider audience, naturally increasing the race viewership rates.

Despite the dramatization and at times misleading portrayal of what the sport is about, most praised the show for its authentic approach to storytelling and for showcasing a side of the sport that had never been so openly presented before to F1 fans. Offering fans a unique insight into the off-track action in regards to the management and driver relations the series has managed to continue with undeniable success each year.
Presenting the genuine emotions and personalities of the drivers and the teams has understandably resulted in great traction, enabling viewers to get a real insight into the lives of these people but its also what has struck critics. The human element to the show has made the series so relatable and engaging. Drive to Survive has also highlighted the presence and importance of teamwork which is hard to present during the races. The series has successfully involved the crucial elements and presented the amount of work that goes into the races each weekend.
