Gloucester have had a wide range of players called up for international duty and featuring in the Autumn Nations Series. How have they been getting on?
Gareth Anscombe
Gareth Anscombe has started in both of Wales’ games this Autumn in defeats against Fiji and Australia. The fly half has been a reliable kicker and has been able to take control of the game when needed.
Despite two positive performances, Anscombe has been dropped from the match day squad this weekend as Warren Gatland has made many changes in attempt to turn around the fortunes of the Welsh.
Max Llewellyn
Max Llewellyn has been able to make his first proper impact for Wales this Autumn, making his second and third starts for the country. He has shown a positive attacking influence as well as putting a shift in defensively.
After two strong performances, Llewellyn is starting his third game of the Autumn against South Africa where he will look to continue to impress on the international stage.
Albert Tuisue
Albert Tuisue has featured in both of Fiji’s wins this Autumn, featuring in his country’s first ever win in Cardiff and also being the only international Cherry to win over the weekend in Fiji’s victory against the Spanish.
The number eight is on the bench for this weekends fixture against Ireland, a massive clash for the Fijians.
Matias Alemanno
Matias Alemanno only made a brief appearance against Italy on the opening weekend, when he came on he was able to make an impact by scoring a try.
However, since then the forward has not played and will not feature in Argentina’s visit to France this weekend.]
Tomos Williams
The scrum half was one of Wales’ brightest sparks against Fiji, going the full 80 minutes despite picking up an injury in the later part of the second half.
Unfortunately, the scrum half was ruled out against Australia and is also out of the clash against the mighty South African’s this weekend.
Williams’ absence was visible against Australia and he is a massive loss for both Wales and Gloucester and they will be hoping for him back as soon as possible.
Santiago Carreras
Santiago Carreras made his return from injury against Ireland last weekend, playing 23 minutes off the bench against Ireland. Carreras is also set to come off the bench this weekend against France.
Charlie Atkinson, Arthur Clark and Afo Fasogbon all featured for England A in their victory against Australia A while Freddie Thomas is featured on the bench for Wales so he stands a high chance of making his debut for Wales this weekend.
