Gloucester Rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit remains at 15 for Welsh clash vs Georgia.

Wayne Pivac has once again named local sensation Louis Rees-Zammit at fullback in their match against familiar foes Georgia.

The Gloucester Rugby star who has featured mostly on the wing for the Cherry and  Whites will be looking for further improvement after a strong showing at 15 vs Argentina.

The youngster did however played at 15 for Gloucester in 2020 where George Skvington selected him with Johnny May and Ollie Thorley on the wing. 

Against Georgia, one of his wingers will again be Alex Cuthbert, while Pivac has made a change at 11 with Josh Adams replacing Rio Dyer. 

Reece-Zammit will be hoping for more involvement after just 8 carries making 86 meters and 4 tackle busts against the pumas. 

With no tries this Autumn, the Gloucester star will want to add to his 8 tries scored for his nation. 

The attack will be led by Rhys Preistland who will be partnered by Tomos Williams who has become the 1st choice scrum half under Pivac.

Upfront for Bath player Taulupe Faletau has been rested to give Josh Macleod a start at No. 8 where he hasn’t played since January 2019.

Alun Wyn-Jone will play no part with Ben Carter and Adam Beard starting in the locks. 

Despite his consistent performances when fit, there have been many calls for the 166 and most capped player to retire. 

However, the legend will be hoping to make it to his fifth World Cup having played in the last Edition to be held in France 2007.

This week the Welsh are up against Georgia who they haven’t played since their clash at the Parc y Scarlets.

This was Wayne Pivac’s 8th game in charge after taking over from Warren Gatland in awful conditions, his side kept the European visitors scoreless with an 18-0 Victory. 

This was the lineup that day-  Liam Williams; Johnny McNicholl, Nick Tompkins, Johnny Williams, Louis Rees-Zammit; Callum Sheedy, Kieran Hardy; Wyn Jones, Elliot Dee, Samson Lee, Jake Ball, Seb Davies, James Botham, Justin Tipuric (capt), Aaron Wainwright.

With this being the last match for Wales in the official test window, it will be the final chance for Reese-Zammit and other Premiership players to shine for Wales this Autumn.
