Former Forest Green assistant manager Scott Lindsey appointed head coach at Crawley after leaving Swindon Town

Scott Lindsey has been brought in as head coach of Crawley Town following his departure from Swindon Town.

The former Forest Green assistant manager played an important role in Mark Cooper’s management team during Lindsey’s three year stint with the club, helping the side to the Football League for the first time in 2017 after beating Tranmere Rovers in the play-off final at Wembley.

Scott managed Swindon for the first half of the 22/23 season, helping the Robins to 38 points, only just out of the play off spots by goal difference behind Salford City.

Lindsey will be joined at Crawley by Jamie Day who will act as his assistant manager at the club.

Day has been with Scott at the Robin’s this season, helping them to a successful campaign towards the promotion play offs.

Crawley currently find themselves sitting in 21st just three points ahead of the relegation zone. It’s been a poor season so far for Crawley who will now hope that under Lindsey, will see themselves push into the safety of mid table.

Crawley’s next match is against Doncaster in the league with Scott returning to face his former side on the final day of the season, meaning there could be a spectacle if either side is looking to get into the promotion play offs or avoid relegation.
