Duncan Ferguson cuts a distinctive, intimidating figure on the touchline.
The Everton legend, currently in his first full-time managerial role, would have travelled to Portman Road knowing that they were in for a difficult afternoon.
Forest Green Rovers were without a win in 12 games in all competitions and a trip away to promotion chasing Ipswich Town was the last thing they needed.
The former Scotland international named a starting 11 with the intent to remain compact, frustrate and infuriate a team that have scored more than any other side in the division.
But he looked crestfallen as an unmarked Conor Chaplin fired into the bottom corner to put Ipswich town ahead inside the opening three minutes.
A depressing start to proceedings quickly turned into a horror-show, as his team eventually slumped to a 4-0 defeat.
And the scoreline flattered Forest Green, who easily could have conceded eight or nine were it not for some excellent goalkeeping and wasteful finishing.
This result compounded the poor start Ferguson has had in his new role at Forest Green, with his side taking just one point from his first five games.
Rovers fans were cautiously optimistic when Ferguson took over, who at one point was touted for the vacant Everton managerial position, but any hopes of a new manager bounce were quick to dissipate.
They remain rock bottom of the league, nine points clear of safety, and at this point in the season their relegation seems almost a certainty.
Even more worrying for Rovers fans, when Ferguson was appointed he was given a five-and-a-half year contract.
In hindsight, the decision from Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince to give an unproven manager such a long contract whilst in the midst of a relegation scrap seems foolhardy.
But upon hiring Ferguson, Vince insisted that he had “admired him from afar for a while.”
The Scotsman had received some plaudits for his short spell at the helm of a dismal Everton side where he lost only one of his five games in charge, including an impressive 3-1 win against Chelsea.
He has also had his fair share of bad luck since taking over at Forest Green, and Ferguson has admitted his irritation at the lack of points they have picked up despite their performances.
Most notably, in his first game in charge of the club away at Shrewsbury, they conceded twice after the 94th minute to lose 2-1.
Two weeks later, Colin Stockton scored a last-minute goal for Morecambe to salvage a 1-1 draw and deny Ferguson his first win.
But this will do little to assuage the fears of Forest Green Rovers fans, as they look set to drop straight back into League Two following their historic promotion last year.
And unless results change drastically for Ferguson over the next few weeks, the club will be in an incredibly difficult position.
They will be forced to either pay a huge sum for him to leave and hire someone with the hopes of them achieving a miracle to keep them up, or resign themselves to relegation and stick with a manager that isn’t working.
