This is the third time this campaign that Edwards and his staff have received the Manager of the Month award, after previously winning the award in August and November.
The Rovers boss said: “It’s great recognition for the whole group, all of the players and staff. January was a really tough month, and a lot of sides did really well – so it’s pleasing to see everyone here rewarded for their hard work.
“It shows the consistency of the players and the work the staff put in day-in, day-out to keep all of the players strong and healthy.
“There is so much hard work that goes on behind the scenes that people might not necessarily see, so it’s a credit to a lot of people.”
Goalkeeper McGee played an equally influential part in their perfect run of form a he kept five clean sheets on his way to winning his first player of the month award.
McGee said “I’m over the moon to have won it as it’s a first for me.
“I’m massively appreciative of the boys for helping to keep five clean sheets out of six in January, so credit has to go to them.
He was quick to praise the coaching staff that have shown faith in the shot stopper.
“I have to thank Rob Edwards, Richie Kyle, Dan Connor and all the staff as well for instilling confidence in me from the very beginning and allowing me to put together the run I knew I was capable of.”
