Cheltenham Association Football League expert Rob Morrison believes that the top two divisions are already decided, with the action featuring in the bottom league.
Morrison is the league website’s administrator, and he also referees matches when needed, as well as taking on his current role as club president of Cheltenham Civil Service.
As an expert in the local league, he reports for Severn Sport on a bi-weekly basis on what is happening in the leagues.
In the Premier Division, AFC Kempsey are still dominating the league, to the surprise of nobody.
With 22 points from eight matches, they are still unbeaten this season, and have a staggering goal difference of 31.
However, they have shown signs that they are still human, losing their first game of the season in the cup.
Rob said: “They were unbeaten in the league, but they got beat 5-1 in the Worcestershire County Cup by Inkberrow.
“Although Inkberrow are three divisions higher than Kempsey and some clubs in their league are paid, no one in the league can beat Kempsey. It is theirs to lose.”
Over in Division 1, it is much the same, as Montpellier are running away with it in first place, winning 11 games straight.
With 33 points on the board, and an eye-watering goal difference of 53, it is clear no one will catch them.
Rob said: “Montpellier had a big win last week. They beat second place 2-1, and second place dropped points earlier in the season as well, so again, it is on them to lose the league.”
There is much more excitement in Division 2, with a possible title race on the cards.
Montpellier Reserves are unbeaten so far, with ten wins in a row, but are second place to Bredon Reserves on goal difference.
While Bredon have played two more games, they have a much higher goal difference and are yet to face off with Montpellier.
Rob said: “Montpellier Reserves have won all of their games, with Bredon in first who have not played them.
“Bredon have a better goal difference, and Montpellier aren’t winning by big margins, but if I were a betting man, I would say Kempsey, Montpellier and Montpellier across the divisions.”
