Ex-Cheltenham Town midfielder Daniel Crowley has joined Morecambe from Dutch side Willem II.
Crowley featured 12 times in League One for the Robins in the 2021/22 season while on a short-term contract after he departed Birmingham City.
He wasn’t able to agree an extension to his deal at the Gloucestershire-based side, and departed to join Eerste Divisie side Willem II for the second time in his career on an 18-month contract in February 2022.
However, with six months left on his deal in the Netherlands, he has returned to England.
Crowley has formerly represented Arsenal, Barnsley, Oxford United, Birmingham, Hull City and the Robins in his home country, and it was confirmed today that he has signed for the Shrimps.
The move is initially until the end of the season, as Morecambe seek to stay in the third division of English football this term.
The 25-year-old’s new side faced the Robins on Saturday and emerged 2-1 winners at the Globe Arena.
Crowley said this to Morecambe: “I’m really happy to be here and can’t wait to get started.
“I’ve watched a fair bit of Morecambe over the past few weeks, and the team looks to be full of confidence and picking up some good results. Hopefully, as a team we can really push on further between now and the end of the season.”
