The January transfer window is an exciting time in the world of football with fans excited to see who their club could bring in to help finish the season strongly.
Cheltenham Town have done some very good business in the winter window in past seasons, pulling off the signings of some key players.
With that being said, who are the best players Cheltenham have signed in the winter window:
Charlie Raglan
Up first is center-back Charlie Raglan who joined the Robins in January 2019.
Raglan initially joined Cheltenham on a loan deal from Oxford United but joined on a permanent deal in the following summer.
Since joining, Raglan has helped Cheltenham finish in a playoff spot and helped them win the League Two title last campaign.
Will Boyle
Will Boyle joined Cheltenham on a permanent transfer in the January window in 2017.
Since then, Boyle has made 138 appearances for the Robins, scoring 20 goals in the process. An impressive record for a defender.
Boyle is now club captain, with manager Michael Duff saying “It’s been made clear Boyle, the club captain,” in his pre-match press conference before the League One tie with Shrewsbury.
Alfie May
Striker Alfie May was somewhat of a journeyman before landing at Cheltenham Town in January of 2020.
The Englishman has played for 10 clubs in his career to date, but has been nothing short of exceptional since arriving from Doncaster for a fee said to be around ÂŁ68,000.
The striker is loved by all Cheltenham Town fans after he scored against Manchester City in the FA Cup game last season.
May has scored an impressive 10 goals this season, averaging 0.44 goals per game.
Dan Holman
Dan Holman joined Cheltenham from Colchester in January of 2016 and stayed at the club for two seasons.
In that time the hitman striker had an impressive scoring record, bagging an impressive 28 goals for the club in his first season.
Holman helped Cheltenham gain promotion back into the football league during his time at the club, playing a key role within the squad.
Steven Gillespie
Steven Gillespie initially joined Cheltenham on loan in 2004 but made his move perminant in January 2006, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
Gillespie managed 21 league goals in 67 games for Cheltenham, helping them get promoted to League One.
The attacker eventually requested a transfer away from the Robins, leaving for Colchester United for a ÂŁ400,000 fee after joining for a rumored ÂŁ5,000.
