Cheltenham Town Under-18s 3-0 Forest Green Rovers Under-18s: Robins win convincingly against Gloucestershire rivals

Cheltenham Town Under-18s put in a near-perfect performance to beat Forest Green Rovers Under-18s 3-0 in the EFL Youth Alliance South West.

First half goals for the Robins from Cam Walters, Eddie Lewis and Fin Jenner blew their opposition away, with the Nailsworth-based club unable to recover.

Rovers were given a good opportunity to get back into the match five minutes into the second half after the award of a penalty, but Archie Burford was able to tip Luca Alonzi’s attempt over the crossbar to maintain the clean sheet.

The Robins’ interim lead professional development phase coach Ashley Vincent was pleased to see a strong performance for his side rewarded with a dominant victory.

“I know recently we haven’t been able to apply those finishing touches to get our goals, so I was pleased to see the rewards, but more than anything I was pleased with their intensity.”

The Robins travel to Swindon Town on Saturday, October 22 for their next match, whilst Forest Green will host Bristol Rovers on the same day.
