Cheltenham Beauty Week: what we know

Hair salons, nail studios and fragrance shops; guest speakers and specialists will be telling us all about the world of cosmetics and skin care from the thriving beauty businesses of Cheltenham.

Beauty Week will consist of businesses giving out discounts for their products and giving advice where people can learn about the new trends of beauty. Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID) believes that this event is the first of its kind.

We asked BID’s Director Kevan Blackadder: What audience are you hoping to get from Beauty Week?

The week is being organised by the Cheltenham BID, aiming to bring its businesses together and bring more people to the town.

Kevan said: “One of the things BID has been trying to do to since we set up is to cover new events. We were having a discussion with a number of beauty businesses about what we can do for them.”

Margaret Dabbs will be speaking at one of the ticketed events, a podiatrist and foot expert with foot clinics across the UK and internationally.

“We are hoping the talks will be interesting and informative. It won’t just be ‘this is a wonderful place to get your hair cut’, but why you might consider a certain style and certainly with some of the make-up advice I’m sure people will be learning as much as how they might want to do their make-up and anything about the business.” he said.

“With new events it depends how they go, but yes, this could become a significant event on Cheltenham’s town each year.”

The event will run from April 23 to 29th.
